Text Banking

With text banking, you can use SMS messaging from your cell phone to check account balances, make transfers, and view recent history. You’ll hear the terms “SMS” and “text” banking used interchangeably.


The text, or SMS, system is simple and fast. Members will be able to sign up in the online banking system or mobile app under the "Settings" menu via the "Text Enrollment" link by authorizing their preferred mobile device. Once that is complete you will be welcomed to text banking with a message on your phone. Then you provide “nicknames” for each of your accounts under the Account Preferences within the Settings menu. You will need to also check Enabled for all accounts you want to access through text banking. You can check available balances, look at your history and make transfers between accounts.

Text Banking Basics

Text Banking Number: 226-563

Text Nicknames: CHK (for checking)  |  SAV (for savings)  |  LOA (for loans)

Text Banking Commands: (characters are not case-sensitive; “bal” or “BAL” or “Bal” and will receive the same results.)

  • Check Balance: BAL nickname
  • To Transfer Funds: XFER nickname nickname amount
  • Account History: HIST nickname

Text Banking alerts allows members to opt-in to receive news and information about upcoming products from Greater Iowa Credit Union.

There are no premium charges using Q2ebanking Text Banking Alerts. Message and data rates may apply. 

Message Frequency
Subscribers to Q2ebanking Text Banking Alerts will receive one message per query. 

How to opt-out
To opt-out of Q2ebanking Text Banking Alerts, reply STOP to 226563. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent after that one.

Privacy Policy

  • Text Banking will never, under any circumstances, sell or distribute your cell phone number to third parties or Text Banking clients for whom you have not approved.
  • Text Banking will never directly market to you any services for which you have not opted in, either by cell phone, text message or email.
  • Text Banking will never distribute any personal information about you, including your phone number, name, billing information or any other piece of identifying information.
