ProjectClassroom Teacher Grant Program

 

We understand that money is tight for teachers. That’s why we’ve developed a special grant program to allow teachers to purchase items they may not otherwise be able to afford. Greater Iowa Credit Union offers Project Classroom, a grant program for K-5 teachers. Four grants of $1,000 each will be awarded to teachers who teach within the 33 Iowa counties of Greater Iowa’s membership.

Ideas & Criteria

ProjectClassroom grant funds can be used for classroom supplies, technology, equipment, field trips – there are plenty of possibilities!

  1. Does the project enhance the academic environment in the classroom and contribute toward academic achievement among the teacher’s students?
  2. Does the project have compelling, creative or unique features which makes it stand out from traditional approaches to classroom teaching?
  3. Are the project costs adequately detailed in the essay/proposal?
  4. If funded with a grant, would the project have the support of the school’s administration?

Applications

Nominations can come from members, teachers and administrators. To apply, complete the online application and submit a 500-word essay that describes how you will use the grant funds. The 2015 application deadline is September 1, 2015 and grants will be awarded October 2015.
