Greater Iowa wins "best of best" award for mortgage lending practices

January 10, 2011, - Ames, IA - – The mortgage department at Greater Iowa Credit Union was recently honored by one of the nation's top mortgage companies, PHH Mortgage, with its "Best of the Best" award for the credit union's exemplary mortgage lending practices.
"As a recipient of PHH Mortgage's prestigious Best of the Best award, Greater Iowa is recognized for stellar achievement in the critical areas of member experience, loan quality and performance," said Mike Dirrane, executive vice president of sales, PHH Mortgage. "This award is a symbol of Greater Iowa’s holistic commitment to serving their members' needs; from the simplest transaction to financing their dream home."
"It is quite an honor to be recognized for just doing our job," said Gail LaFayette, vice president of lending at Greater Iowa. “We see it as an endorsement of the credit union way of doing mortgages."
LaFayette was informed this fall that Greater Iowa received the award.
Each year the company recognizes 25 percent of its national clients for their commitment to loan quality and customer services.
Financial institutions that receive the award receive preferred client access from PHH Mortgage, as well as other rewards and benefits.
