Location: Ames - Operations Center
Type of Employment: Full-Time

We are currently seeking a Project Manager that is responsible for implementing projects within the credit union from inception to completion. This role balances multiple, cross-functional strategic projects and is responsible for daily project management and administration. The Project Manager will research, analyze, and evaluate new and innovative project ideas. Working collaboratively with internal teams and vendors, the Project Manager will ensure projects are completed by defined schedules to support the credit union's goals.

Location: 1509 Balitmore Drive, Ames, IA 50010

Hours: Monday - Friday, between 7:30am - 6pm (flexible)

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Manages credit union projects that are larger in nature, or involve multiple departments, products or services, across all phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Consults with senior leadership and key stakeholders to clarify and define project requirements.  Creates, manages and tracks projects, including but not limited to detailed project plans, project scope, cost estimate, resource allocation, risk analysis, and status reports.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and vendors to complete projects. Effectively communicates relevant information to project stakeholders and facilitates meetings as appropriate regarding project status including timeline, risks, delays, and overall progress.
  • Ensures project implementation related issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner.  Communicates sensitive/difficult information tactfully.
  • Supports the creation and improvement of processes, procedures, and tools. Provides ongoing recommendations to supervisor about new projects.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience in a financial industry with project management and/or applicable training.
  • Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  • Other Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; talk and hear. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities
