The marketing staff at Greater Iowa Credit Union received a national Diamond Award for marketing excellence in the community and public relations program category from the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council. Greater Iowa received the award at the group’s annual meeting in March in Anaheim for its Project Classroom program, which provides $1,000 grants to elementary schools to help fund creative and unique academic projects.

Last fall the marketing staff presented four $1,000 Project Classroom grants to elementary schools within the credit union’s 31-county field of membership, including schools in Saydel, Ida Grove, Ames and Denison. Schools are selected based on the academic and creative merits of an essay detailing how funds will be used.

Applications for this year’s grants will be accepted beginning May 1, 2013 through September 1, 2013. For more information or to fill out an application, click here.
