Our Indianola branch is now open!

    March 3, 2014

Indianola, IA-Greater Iowa Credit Union, located in the Summercrest Hills Development on the north edge of town, is now open for business. In an open letter to the Indianola community, Scott Zahnle, president and CEO of the credit union, wrote: “We’re incredibly proud of our new branch and its innovative approach to banking, and we’re excited to be a part of your business community. We chose to come to Indianola because there is such potential here to do what we do best—help our members succeed financially.”

The credit union broke ground on the new 3,500-square foot facility in late July and opened last week for business. Anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in Warren County is eligible to become a member of Greater Iowa. The credit union is “community chartered” by the Iowa State Credit Union Division and serves members in a 33-county area that includes Warren, Lucas and Clarke counties.

The credit union brings a lot of innovation to traditional banking products including app-based mobile banking and the ability to remotely deposit checks using a smart phone. In addition, this branch will have expanded lobby hours to accommodate commuters and those who work until 5 or 6 p.m. Lobby hours are 8:30 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The drive-up will open at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The credit union will hold a special open house celebration on Saturday, April 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be gifts, food, prizes, drawings and entertainment.
